Project: Central Study Identification

Aims

Central Study Identification Service (CSIS) is a phased project to create a sustainable service to efficiently identify studies for Cochrane evidence syntheses. It aims to:

  • Offer a customizable suite of dependable, high-quality search and screening services for Cochrane evidence syntheses that will streamline study identification tasks, and help eliminate development bottlenecks.

  • Support quality improvement, alongside Central Editorial Service and Review development pipeline.

  • Create efficiencies through data reuse, making review development more efficient.

  • Improve the experience for Cochrane authors.

Milestones & timeline

  • Provide study identification services on all high-priority reviews from 2023 onwards

  • Provide study identification services to many Cochrane Groups from 2024 onwards

  • Develop a model for providing a range of study identification services to the wider evidence synthesis community in 2024 and 2025
