July 26 webinar: Transferring content to the Central Editorial Service - getting started

As you know, all Cochrane protocols, reviews and updates will be managed centrally by the Central Editorial Service by March 2024. To help guide you through this change, we are hosting a series of webinars focusing on the practical steps you will need to take. The first of these webinars is scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, with two sessions available at 8.00am and 16.00pm BST.

This session aims to assist Cochrane Review Group editorial staff - such as Managing and Assistant Managing Editors and Editorial Assistants - who will be transferring most of the content to the Central Editorial Service (CES).

The first webinar will be on Wednesday 26 July and we will hold two sessions, one at 08:00 BST and the other at 16:00 BST. During this session we will focus on the process of transferring content to the Central Editorial Service.

In this first webinar, we will provide a brief overview of the Central Editorial Service’s editorial process and summarise all the milestones and timelines for the transfer of content to the Central Editorial Service.

We will then take a more in-depth look at the processes involved in the first two milestones:

  • Step 1: Transfer of open invitations with a submission deadline later than 31 August;

  • Step 2: All new protocols, reviews, and updates where the first draft is submitted after 1 September 2023 are transferred to the Central Editorial Service as soon as the submissions come in.

There will be a live demo in Editorial Manager and you will have an opportunity to ask questions you may have about this process. A recording of this webinar will be made available.

 The Future of Evidence Synthesis Programme team are in the process of organising separate meetings to give you the opportunity to discuss the wider context of this transition, including the roles and responsibilities of Review Groups in the future.
