RevMan Web replaces RevMan5 in April 2023

The full implementation of RevMan Web is a key element of simplifying and streamlining Cochrane review development, including the ability to create new types and formats of Cochrane evidence.

By April 2023 RevMan Web will support:

  • Editing of all review types including DTA reviews (estimated release December)

  • Use of RevMan Web outside of Cochrane for individual subscribers (estimated release January 2023)

  • Export of analysis and study data

  • Import of study data from Covidence (for reviews using study-centric data)

  • A service to convert RevMan 5 files to data that can be pasted or imported into RevMan Web

With the full move to RevMan Web, RevMan5 will be retiring on 25 April 2023. This means that users will not be able to check in or check out Cochrane reviews using RevMan 5, and will no longer be able to download RevMan 5. This change will not affect any Cochrane Review Groups closing in April.

Retiring RevMan 5 will enable the introduction of a new review format that will include key changes designed to reduce the workload of editors, peer reviewers, and copy editors and improve the author experience. You can learn more about the new review format by watching the webinar held on 10 November 2022.
