Review Portfolio Management

 Aims:

Cochrane groups will transition from managing their portfolios in Archie to managing them in RevMan. The new portfolio management functionality in RevMan is better aligned with the new ways of working with the Central Editorial Service and provides additional project management support for author teams. We aim to decommission Archie in 2024.

This project aims to:

  • Allow Cochrane users to manage their review portfolio without accessing Archie.

  • Move all review-producing groups to use RevMan for managing their reviews and support the launch of new review-producing groups.

  • Introduce more streamlined and standardised tools and processes for both Cochrane and non-Cochrane users.

  • Eliminate dependency on Archie for review development.

Milestones & timeline:

  • Now: Pilot with a small number of Cochrane Groups and the central editorial and production teams

  • Q3 2024: Wider rollout to Cochrane groups

News:

Archie needs to be replaced because it is not up to date with current best practice and uses outdated technology. The move to managing portfolios in RevMan is the most important next step towards decommissioning Archie.
